Hi Jason,=0D Both SASS and Jecklin Disk can create a very nice stereo image and good lo= calization =96 though each requires a different approach to a given soundsc= ape to yield a desired result. I favor DIY SASS, partly because I have fou= nd it easier to build into a fairly compact, lightweight, and otherwise man= ageable array for field recording. =0D =0D =0D My current DIY design uses a windscreen made from floor buffing pads, cut = and sewn together into a squat spheroid. The windscreen has a plywood base = with a threaded insert that attaches to any standard photo tripod. An open= -cell foam and aluminum DIY SASS is supported by the windscreen material, s= omewhat floating, so it is less affected by noises coming from the tripod. = =0D =0D Good luck on your project,=0D =0D John Hartog=0D |
