Hello,
I thought I'd introduce myself.
I am base in Fife, in East central Scotland, and I have recently started be=
coming interested in wildlife recording.
My current set up is a Sony ICD PX440 Digital Voice recorder, and an MVO VX=
R40 shotgun microphone.
I am planning on building a DIY stereo pair using electret capsules, and I =
may experiment with a DIY parabolic reflector from a bird feeder squirrel g=
uard dome. I'm also planning on upgrading the sound recorder as mine only=
records in mp3 format.
My first successful recording can be heard here:

This was taken on the 1st of January 2017 at my local public park behind th=
e train station. I had forgotten to switch my alarm clock off , so was up =
and out by 7am! A bit of traffic noise I tried to filter out.
But a reasonable capture of a Song Thrush.
I'm certainly looking forward to learning more from the naturerecordists em=
ail list.
Kind regards,
Brian.
