Vicky has (had?) a nice site comparing the SASS vs the Telinga SSM. I am
going to make some ten pairs of them and they are easier to travel with.

Hello, Klas. How much do you charge for this Telinga SSM? And what type
of connections are used - minijack or XLR?
What kind of setup would you recommend in an environment where there is
almost always some wind?
Best regards,
Arnthor

Hello Klas & Anthor,
My website (www.caperteebirder.com) still has the comparison of DIY
SASS with Telinga SSM. Both rigs give a good stereo image, the SASS
has a bit wider image. The SSM would certainly fit more easily into a
suitcase for travelling, than the SASS.
I am progressively updating my website with new links to SoundCloud
tracks, and I've just updated the SSM-SASS page. I have not been able
to access SoundCloud for some years due to incredibly slow internet.
New internet dish has speeded me up again so I can now do more audio
stuff online :-)
Anthor, I found the SSM windshields would need extra shielding if
there was a lot of wind, a home made cage of some sort might fix
that. The SSM rig uses minijacks.
One test I don't think I've ever done is to compare "tree-ears" to
SASS or SSM. I think the latter two would be more directional and
give a little more boost to the signal.
