I was thinking about this way to work:
Usually the SD card is turned off and the microcontroller samples
continuosly and, with the integrated DSP, filters the stream and when in a
defined band pass there's a valid signal then the stream is recorded for a
defined time in the internal sd card. When recording if there's another
trigger then the recording continues, else the file is closed ad a time
stamp is set for the file. I imagine two ways to work: one is a standalone
mode in which the microphone is powered with an external Power supply i.e.
a battery and it records automosly according to the xml file stored in the
SD card. The second mode is connected to an host i.e. smartphone, pc etc.
The fact is that it's not easy to start a recording on a pc from a trigger
coming from the microphone itself. When connected to a PC Ultramic is
recognized as a microphone and a mass storage device. If the function you
say can be useful I could work in this way...
Thanks
Ivano
