Hello Klas, OK, I am confused again. I thought the point of the table I linked to, and of Johns Spreadsheet, w= as to make sure you had a preamp with self noise lower than the mic self no= ise, taking into account the microphone output. So the recorder self noise = would be lower than the mic self noise. Now you have me questioning my understanding of those resources which I tho= ught helped you avoid the problem you have raised. Or are you referring to recorder noise other than from the pre-amp which th= at table/spreadsheet doesn't consider? Cheers, Graham |
