And to add to this 'discovery' for those who don't know, always use a eutec=
tic solder with a flux pen. I didn't learn this until a few years back, and=
 since then any soldering I've done has been not only easier but looked bet=
ter. It looks better because of the slightly higher than 'normal' tin conte=
nt (63/37 rather than 60/40), which makes the joint shinier and the stuff d=
efinitely flows more easily. The flux pen is so simple to use, and I've fou=
nd to be so much more effective. Eutectic solder can be bought in cut lengt=
hs if you don't use much, and that way you're reasonably sure to be getting=
 fresh stock.
