Hi,

I am a new member. My name is Ernie Jardine. I was active in this group sev=
eral years back, and then just slipped away. I record bird songs in order t=
o illustrate what I have written in my books on bird song identification, m=
ost recently "Bird Song Defined Decoded Described". The songs are on my web=
site (www.birdsongidentification.com).

I have been using a Telinga Pro5W and Stereo DAT mic and parabola combinati=
on for about ten years. Now I notice that the wires to the 9 volt charging =
clip on the handle are broken, and I can no longer charge the unit. These w=
ires are very thin, and I am wondering if anyone has had problems with simi=
larly thin wires on any of their electronic devices that then needed repair=
. Do I trust any electronic repair shop to fix it, and will such a repair l=
ast for a reasonable amount of time, or am I stuck with something that can'=
t be repaired properly? I have had no experience with this type of thing, a=
nd am looking for a response from someone who has.

Thanks for any help,
Ernie Jardine
