Hi all
[Apologies for cross postings]
I'm attaching a flyer for soundCamp, a listening event in London on Interna=
tional Dawn Chorus Day, and notes on REVEIL: the first 24 hour live radio b=
roadcast of the sounds of daybreak, relayed by a network of audio streamers=
around the world.
Starting on Saturday at 05.00 London time (UTC 0+1), REVEIL will travel Wes=
t from one open microphone to the next, tracking the rising sun, and finish=
the following morning back in London where the show is being broadcast fro=
m the soundCamp at Stave Hill Ecology Park, about 2 miles from the Meridian=
line in Greenwich.
You can join us for a dawn chorus walk on Sunday with recordist and natura=
list Richard Beard of the London Sound Survey. If you want to spend the nig=
ht, there is a limited number of places to camp in a meadow on the reserve.=
There will be a low power FM broadcast to the ecology park and surrounding=
area, or you can listen in on Resonance FM or online, and throughout the =
transmission on Wave Farm / WGXC 90.7-FM from the Upper Hudson, New York, =
or on many other participating stations.
You can also provide a a stream and be part of the first REVEIL broadcast, =
as many people around the world are already doing. Go to MIXLR for a free s=
treaming app for iPhone or laptop or Locus Sonus to set up a permanenent o=
r temporary feed on the Locus Sonus open microphone network.
For more information on streaming, camping or other events at Stave Hill ov=
er the first May weekend, see the links below.
Best wishes
Grant
