Having introduced =93Silence=94 at the Pacific Film Archive premier (Berkel=
ey, CA) last year, I found the film to be a bit somber and dark in feeling.=
However, for those who would like to see the subject through a brighter le=
ns, and who=92d enjoy seeing/hearing the ways in which natural soundscapes =
can positively engage with and help folks with Down=92s Syndrome, autism, a=
nd other maladies, watch how effective biophonies can be when administered =
lovingly by Wolfgang Fasser, a therapist and field recordist who is both bl=
ind AND hearing impaired. Check out =93Nel Giardino dei Suoni=94 (Garden of=
Sound) 2010, a Swiss-Italian production that beautifully reaches outward i=
n ways never before presented in film. It also features Walter Tilgner, a l=
ong time field recordist from Germany who has been on this list. The film i=
s sub-titled in several languages and is, by far, the most moving, positive=
, and hopeful cinematic presentation on this subject I=92ve ever seen. By a=
ll means, see this one. http://www.amazon.com/In-Garden-Sounds-Wolfgang-Fas=
