I'm in Australia and the best equivalent I've found to hardware cloth is a=
viary wire - a square weave mesh that's strong but with plenty of air in th=
e weave. I think I'll go with that. I have a set of the Rode WS2 windscreen=
s, but they are quite bulky. Do you use these? Is there anything slimmer av=
ailable? =0D

I stumbled across your blog a while back when researching the NT1As and th=
ought your heater was a brilliant idea. I'm in the tropical north and the h=
umidity is at times incredible. I will definitely be making a set of these!=

I hemmed and hawed for a long time over a matched pair of NT1-As or an Aud=
io-Technica BP4025. After listening to as many recordings as I could find I=
thought the NT1-A pair provided a better stereo image (the BP 4025 is stil=
l a brilliant mic). And I believe their self-noise can't be beat. I'm runni=
ng them through a Sound Devices MixPre and recording to the Sony pcm-m10 an=
d so far I am over the moon with the sound quality and the virtually non-ex=
istent noise floor. These mics are eerily quiet. =0D

Thanks for the advice and the excellent post detailing your DIY heaters. I=
hope I will have some nice recordings soon to share :)=0D
