Hello fellow recordists,
I'm just starting out in the nature recording world and have just built an ORTF
rig for my Rode NT1A mics. I have used some plastic mesh as a frame for which
to slip over my fur windjammers. The mesh I bought wasn't strong enough to hold
its shape so I had to double up. My question is, at what point does there
become too much "stuff" between the diaphragm and the sound?
This is what my rig looks like, prior to adding some sheer stocking sleeves and
the fur windjammers:

Would my audio be affected by using this doubled-up mesh? Should I redo the
frames with some thin aviary wire instead? I did a few tests, but I'm unable to
really discern a difference in what I'm hearing. I don't think I've developed
my organ of audio sufficiently yet.
Thanks,
Chas
