I had the same recorder for 5 months, it failed, the switches are not
that durable. I did at first like the ability to use all controls
without having to page through menus in a small LCD screen, but the
unit is not that well constructed. I returned it and bought a Marantz
PMD-661mkII, so far I am enjoying this recorder.
