For robustness and high humidity, I'd back the MKH mics. I've got several
MKH 816 T types (long gun mic) and I bought three from the Film School on
eBay for peanuts.
Nobody uses T powering now so these mics go cheaply. You need a T to P
adaptor, but they still give good results. For sheer value for money they
can't be beaten. For robustness the Film School mics had been dropped and
bashed about with missing frets but still sound OK. I've had 416's and 816'=
s
in dripping wet windgags without fizzing, due to the low capsule voltage (R=
F
bias). Had a wet XLR fizzle once, but a quick blow out fixed that.
