Hi all, I am looking for a windshield for ORTF stereo recording using 2 MKH8040 mic= s. I know Rycote make an ORTF Windshield version with MZL connbox suitable = for these mics. However this adds considerably to the price because you're= paying for the additional MZX8000 connectors on the connbox. Can anyone tell me if its ok to use the "no connbox" version of the kit and= then fit a connbox 3 (for MS stereo) instead? (connbox 3 is 2 x 3pin XLR -= > 5pin XLR). Obviously this makes the total length of the mic and connector= longer. I was also wondering if anyone has successfully modified a standard Rycote = windshield kit for ORTF recording with the 8040s? Thanks, Jon |
