Good news folks, as suspected by many here, I have not lost anything. The n=
ew laptop arrived today and after setting it up I have transferred the main=
 folders of sounds.

So will continue with that tomorrow. I am however at a loss as to what caus=
ed this to suddenly stop booting.  Anyway disaster has gladly been averted.
