To augment my previous post on the subject, with the two SD302 + MixPre,
I normally use 6 ME/K6 series Sennhiser and a pair of R0DE NTG3 mics.
Its not about noise reduction as mush as it is the mixing capability and
not having to run the recorder at maximum gain... I am very happy with
this configuration having abandoned a DR-680 recorder in the process of
reaching this setup...
