nference talk. I am speaking at the Comparative Cognition Society Conferenc=
e (20th)=A0held in Melbourne, Florida (details also on Arielle's index page=
). My PowerPoint presentation is on 6 March 2013 at around 9 p.m. about the=
 theme of the Auditory Discrimination Group. The subject of my talk is call=
ed Speech-Language Disparity and details how poorly humans discriminate sou=
nds. Understanding talking birds from recordings of their free speech leads=
 to=A0the following aspects: 1) the use of cognitive speech by talking bird=
s, 2) synonyms in volunteered parrot speech, and 3) the substitution of pro=
nouns by free-speaking birds.
