Good work Jim !  I also like to examine spectrograms to work out what is go=
ing on when we listen.

You can find my own analysis of the spectrogram of Collared Dove here: http=
://tinyurl.com/by3g2o2  I got that by expanding the vertical and horizontal=
 axes even more than you did. Maybe you can try that with your calls and se=
e if you can find that funny little "grace note" that precedes the first tw=
o main notes (the ones I labelled "A") - I do not hear then in every phrase=
 of your recording only occasionally - and now I am wondering if that is a =
transatlantic difference or simply individual variation ? Something to watc=
h out for this spring I think.

Thanks for stimulating my further curiosity in what for me is a bit of a bo=
ring bird !
