To quote:

Who wrote this stuff? Elsewhere they talk about "tapes". I'd be very
dubious about detecting differences in frequency responses as off-axis
responses are all over the place with the very best of mics. MKH
series are better, but not for their frequency response, more for
robustness and consistency in any conditions. For instance my MKH's
have been outdoors all winter, and I wouldn't risk any electret with
that.
