I ordered the LS-14.

I personally think there are a lot of recorders that do fairly well with mo=
derate noise level of recordings. My interest in the LS-14 is with it's sup=
posedly quite preamp's and the third omni mic to capture lower frequencies =
down to 20hz. So I was planning on doing several tests between all 3 record=
ers (Sony PCM M10, LS-11, and the LS-12)of fairly low ambient sounds in my =
neighborhood. Since I am most familiar with the ls-11 (and believe that pro=
duces "truer" recordings than the Sony PCM M10, with the exception of the b=
ass roll-off from it's limitation of 60hz) I was going to use that as my co=
ntrol recordings. I suspect it'll take me about a week or so to do the test=
s if my family doesn't bug me too much once the recorder arrives.

I'd be happy to post the wav files on-line and let everyone else listen for=
themselves and make form their own opinion... if anyone can give me a good=
place where I can post the wav files, I'll be sure to do so.

But got tired of waiting.. So I ordered one yesterday from Amazon and will=
compare it against my LS-11 and my Sony PCM M10. If I don't like it, I wil=
l send it back.. Got to love Amazon's 30 day return policy ;)
