Been lurking/reading/researching in the forum for quite a while. I finally=
 got everything together and have started doing recordings. I bought a pai=
r of MX391's off of Ebay (thanks hartogj - msg 44707) and a Sony PCM-M10.  =
Anyhow...just getting started.

I stuck them under the feeder this morning hoping to capture the sound of t=
heir wingbeats as they circle the feeder. Also wanted to get their chirps.=
  Interesting results:

http://snd.sc/SrmO4t - mostly wingbeats

http://snd.sc/SrpIX5 - lots of chirps

For those recordings, I made a quick 6in barrier of stuff I had lying aroun=
d...2in closed cell foam sandwiched between 2 layers of 2in open cell foam.=
  Rubber banded together. It's about the size of a brick or yoga block. G=
o DIY!!  Here's a couple pics:

My previous "rig" was the MX391's velco'd to the sides of a basketball set =
atop a chicken wire tube. The recordings sounded ok to me...LOL. If you w=
ant to hear a b-ball recording, I can upload one to my soundcloud.

The recording bug has bitten me bad! I'm already looking for more gear!!! =
LOL! It'll probably end up being:

NT1-A's-->Mixpre-->Sony M-10 Line-in
OR
NT1-A's-->HD-P2

Not sure which would be cleaner/quiter.

I think I've spent too much time at Rob Danielson's site. Awesome!

I'm so excited! Man I love this stuff!!!!
Have a good one!
