Klas, the Zoom H1 has a step up converter built into it for voltage, as I assume any other recorder with a single-cell battery supply would. I was also trying to learn about PIP supplies several months ago and took over an effort that Nick Roast started a few years ago to collect data. If you want to view data, there is a spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/a/aquarianaudio.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkY_ZW8j97QPdGJKal9zVVBiSG1ady00Q3RIQUl0dkE#gid=0 Please feel free to add to it--anybody.
