Hello, Peter.

As mentioned en the remarks, the noise comes from the water running through
the central heating in the house. Houses in this part of Iceland as the
majority of homes and companies, are warmed up with geothermal water. In a
wooden house and in the silence of the night the sound of the water in the
pipes is quite clear.

Actually I had come to the conclusion that night-recording should take plac=
e
at least 10 m from a house with a central heating. However it was too
allauring to place the mics at the veranda to pick up all the sounds of the
house.

All the best.
