I recorded this a few days ago: http://soundcloud.com/stowfordnature/dr1000-2187doveclose I think it is a dove making a subsong. Likely species are Collared dove or Stock dove. It was fairly near the set mics at the edge of my garden, looking at some dense shrubbery and it called for over an hour. I have heard it since several times in the same place. Could it be on a nest? I don't want to rummage in the shrubbery as it is nesting season. David David Brinicombe North Devon, UK Cogito cogito ergo cogito sum - Ambrose Bierce |
