hey,

i once tried the css-5, and it was much (!!) too noisy for nature
recording.
and i did not like the sound, but thats just my taste..
but on the other side, i heard some pretty nice sounds that were
recorded with the css5, which just proves that the source of sound is
more important that the mic;-)
but i would be happy to hear your thoughts about your the CUW-180! i
=B4ve never used it..
