<<Sam not being a tech and knowing how easy it is to release a capactors' charge. Would those capacitors be holding enough charge to have Sam singing Electric Light Orchestra songs out his butt for awhile if they weren't dried out?>> Not to worry. The voltages inside an old TV or CRT monitor are dangerous & those caps need discharging before nosing around, but in any battery powered audio preamp there's probably nothing higher than 12 volts, & really small caps. The caps which can retain a truly dangerous potential are as big as sausages. Scott Fraser |
