ger Date: Tue Mar 20, 2012 6:11 am ((PDT)) The first day of spring was cloudy and calm here in the Eastern panhandle o= f West Virginia. Fog enshrouded the mountain tops and left a thin vail in t= he valleys. As dawn was merely a brightening of the sky, the best clue was = the increase in the bird activity. Recorded from the back deck, Eastern pho= ebes building a nest, Whitetail deer browsing and snorting, Wild turkey clu= cking and gobbling, American crows calling all added to the growing chorus. Here is a link to a 10 minute segment of a longer recorded from the deck th= is morning. Had to do a little low freq filtering to lessen traffic noise f= rom highway 1 mile to right of soundscape. http://soundcloud.com/wilhershberger/first-day-of-spring-2012 Wil Hershberger Nature Images and Sounds, LLC Hedgesville, WV The Songs of Insects My Blog |
