I don't know about most of the kit you listed, but I used the D50 in the
Bolivian Amazon jungle and it was extremely reliable. Did multiple
recordings of over 12 hours with it and it never failed on me. I also had a
Tascam DR-680 with a Sennheiser MS rig, but the Tascam did fail on me once
- though I'm not entirely sure what the problem was, it might have been the
memory card flipping out.

One of my main concerns was keeping my kit dry whilst I left it behind for
several hours. It turned out that in the case of the D50 this was not too
difficult, it's pretty easy to find natural protection against rain in the
rain forest when your rig is small. Just make sure you don't place it on
the ground, because when it rains it can be quite torrential. For the
bigger rig (Tascam and Sennheiser MS) I ended up having to build protective
'huts' using big leaves from the forest.

Like I said, I don't have experience with most of the kit you listed, but
regardless of what you do, I would bring 2 rigs (like you already seem to
have planned). First of all it's useful to have a backup rig. Secondly, if
you have one rig that is placed stationary for multiple hours, it's nice to
have another rig you can take around for hikes to do quick captures of
anything you may find interesting.

One last tip, I don't know how well you know the area where you are going
to, but one of my regrets of my recent Amazon recording experiment was not
having enough time to explore before choosing a spot to record. Best is to
have about a week (or more) at a single location and to get to know the
place and best recording spots. This is especially true for nighttime
recordings, as it's hard and potentially dangerous to experiment with
different recording locations and setups during the night.

Have fun,
Daan
