rn62 Date: Fri Feb 10, 2012 5:50 pm ((PST)) At the risk of teaching my grandmother to suck eggs I'll offer some suggestions. Military people have a maxim that time spent in reconnaissance is never wasted. Does the bird have a special watering point. What are its foods and where can they be found. Early in the day does it sing from a favourite perch. I know of one recordist who studied his birds habits and found that it roosted in a particular tree, so during the day he climbed th= e tree and fixed his microphone close to the roost and that night he camped under the tree and recorded the bird at dawn from the comfort of his swag. Others have done it in style using a caravan and listened to the sounds of the night and dawn from the comfort of a warm double bed. Could the bird be attracted by a bait of its preferred food, or alternatively cheese, peanut butter or honey. Good hunting. Stuart. |
