I also use Ardour. It's great (very ProTools-ish) but it can be a little intimidating and inconsistent too. I've been a supporter for a few years and watched it get tremendously better. A new release (3.0) is coming up soon. You might want to consider Reaper too. http://www.reaper.fm <http://www.reaper.fm> It runs in a free unlimited demo mode and costs $60 for personal use. It's in the same class as Logic/ProTools & Ardour but it's not open-source though. I see very little reason to invest in Logic or Pro Tools these days. |
