I recorded the sound of a quail being flushed, and there's this odd, very b= rief squeak in the recording. I don't know if it's the bird, or if it's som= e sound that I or the equipment made. One theory is that as I quickly swung= the microphone to follow the bird, the rubber bands of the shock mount str= etched and squeaked. But it also sounds a bit like the recorder just stopped recording for an in= stant, maybe a loose cable? The recording is here: http://soundcloud.com/petershute/111105-02 The sound can be heard during the wing beats as the bird flushes, and I've = marked the spot with a comment. Any opinions?
