Hi,
   Do sound devices provide a USB to 12V or 5V power block or similar? What 
batteries do you use when using it in stand alone mode or is there a battery 
compartment for this?

Is the USBPre2 vastly different from the MixPre-D ? The latter doesnt have 
optical output - Im considering the USBPre2 for use with my Sony D50 (optical 
in) - however the input impedance is a little low at 2K? 
for dynamic and ribbon mics.
