I've uploaded some sample recordings to Soundcloud, and I'm wondering if an=
yone would mind listening and commenting on the quality.

They all have some sort of background noise problems, but I'm thinking this=
 one has the least:
http://soundcloud.com/petershute/lewins-rail

There was a light breeze, so some of the background noise could be reeds ru=
stling, but I think most would be cars, etc, or self noise. There's an oil=
refinery less than a kilometre away, and roads only a few hundred metres, =
although it was early in the morning, so not too much traffic.

Equipment is an ME66/K6 (with filter switch on) in a home made, hand held s=
hock mount, and Sony PCM-M10 mounted on top of the shock mount. The main su=
bject, a Lewin's Rail, is about 30m away in thick reeds.

I don't have much hearing about 6kHz, so I'm interested to hear any comment=
s about higher frequencies you might hear in the recording.
