Yes indeed, Barney. Or as Martyn recently pointed out, the name of our Paci=
fic Northwest variety was changed last year to Pacific Wren (Troglodytes pa=
cificus)when winter wren was divided into three distinct species.

I felt blessed by the universe last weekend to be surrounded by half a doze=
n or so of these fascinating creatures who have made the wooded lot around =
my little surf shack their home.

Here is a three minute excerpt from the original.

There are some calls in there I am not familiar with yet - spaced single no=
tes in three pitches from two (or three?) individuals.

Also I had previously not noticed the buzz part of the Pacific wren song.

I applied some eq to balance the stream sounds. There is likely some anthro=
pogenic noise from nearby highway traffic buried in there.
