David, Thank you for your comments, I have installed Audacity and will experiment = as per your suggestions. No, I didn't see the deer, it crept up behind me, I believe I was sitting i= n it's regular route through the clearing.... hence the noise it was making= after it found me. The first bark was just behind me, very loud and completely unexpected, I h= ad been monitoring through headphones for 40 mins by that point so I jumped= out of my skin! The clip I used was from a few mins later as it moved away, there are some = faint, single hoof beats (typical of muntjak) associated with some of the b= arks. Muntjak are very common in this area, but as I didn't see it, I can not be = 100% certain about the identity. I would say it was about 30-35 metres away at the start of the clip. Thanks, Ross |
