I think one should consider carefully that 6db/octave roll-off is actually =
not that different from what many mics give you. In other words, the specs =
of the microphone input on the LS-11 is not worse than what one would reaso=
nably achieve some other way (for a similar investment).
Of course one *CAN* do better... but that would generally require a larger =
recorder, phantom power and much more expensive external mics.
Even if you out-grow the LS-11 some time in the future, for your most impor=
tant low-noise recordings, I bet you keep this recorder on hand for those t=
imes when convenience and portability trump ultimate sound quality.
