Hi Mark,
What could I possibly know about perceptions between beavers, but at the ti=
me I enjoyed interpreting the vocalization as a polite territorial communic=
ation between siblings. One swam carrying a fresh tree branch over to an is=
olated nook near the shoreline and appeared to be nibbling on the branch wh=
ile taunting its sibling as though saying, "I have a nice tasty branch, all=
 to myself, yum yum yum"
