A less familiar piece, IMHO deserving much wider recognition, Peter Schicke= le's String Quartet No. 1 "American Dreams", third movement, contains a dir= ect transcription of birdsong. I highly recommend this version, by the Audubon Quartet who commissioned th= e work, making it all the more fitting for your theme. http://www.schickele.com/shoppe/psrec/audubon.htm --- In "Neville Recording" <>= wrote: > Does anyone have any suggestions of pieces that I might introduce into th= e programme, depicting bird song? |
