You might also look up some work by Dr. Luis Baptista from the San Francisco Academy of Science. He passed away in 2000, but he published a number of studies and articles on bird song. His interest was not in actual recordings of birds in classical music recordings, but rather the influence of bird song on composers. He could whistle a bird song for you and then play a portion of a classical recording. These composers are frauds. They rip off birds without giving due credit. ;) -Roy |
