Tascam has introduced another pocket size device that may prove useful as a=
"point and shoot" recorder and for note-taking in the field. It's called =
the DR-07mkII.
http://tascam.com/product/dr-07mk2
The DR-07mkII uses the design and control layout introduced with the DR-05.=
The DR-07mkII adds a movable mount for the built-in mics. The recorder a=
lso has the ability to mix the mic input signal with an existing recording.=
The result is two files: The original and the overdubbed file. The head=
phones output can be set to blend the original file with the mic input, too=
.
The DR-07mkII has a suggested price of $150, but I expect a lower price as =
retailers compete for your business. I didn't see a date when the new reco=
rder will be for sale.
Tascam now sells a total of 8 small digital recorders. In addition to the =
DR-07mkII, the list includes:
DR-05 =85 $99
DR-07 =85 $100 =85 discontinued
DR-08 =85 $125
DR-1 =85 $150 =85 discontinued
DR-2d =85 $185
GT-R1 =85 $195
DR-100 =85 $280
Each of these has its advantages.
