Hi Martyn;
Thank you for sharing your beautiful recording of spring. I agree entirely =
with your sentiments about solitude or being one with nature.

Here on Salt Spring Island we have just started our fifth season. The meteo=
rologists call it Pre Spring. It occurs around the Gulf Islands in BC and S=
an Juan Islands in Washington. A similar season occurs in the extreme south=
west of Britain, Ireland and Melbourne Australia. Most noteably for us , in=
 our backyard Song Sparrows, House Finch, American Goldfinch, Fox Sparrow a=
nd American Robin are starting to sing. Other birds like White-crowned Spar=
row, Golden-crowned Sparrow, ,Purple Finch are showing their breeding pluma=
ge. The eagles are getting broodie. For this season to occur, the temperatu=
res must raise to approx +10C* each day.
