The 1.20  firmware is now available on the Tascam Japanese site, but not yet
on the US site. Checking the pdf (
http://tascam.jp/content/downloads/products/43/j_dr-680_add_v1.20_va.pdf) it
seems MS is there and that ganging is also implemented for the trim, pan and
level.

Looking like a good upgrade...
