Hi Kevin Just listened to your podcast. Nice recording of the cattle and the mystery= bird. Sounded like a Paradise Duck to me which are found in New Zealand! I was once sitting in the sage, on a sunny afternoon in the Okanagan Valley= British Columbia , trying to record Brewer's Sparrows. Suddenly the distan= t cattle were close enough to hear the breathing of the bulls. I leaped up,= grabbed my equipment (which included my stool and can of beer) and ran to = the car. Literally 10 seconds after I slammed the door a bull passed on eac= h side of the Jeep, followed by the herd of running cattle plus 5 cowboys c= omplete with hats, whips, dogs etc. I didn't manage to record them!
