Hi Al,

Your MKE 300 is working correctly.

On the Sennheiser MKE 300 mike as well as the ME/K6 series mics when used 
on internal battery, the LED only winks when the power switch is turned on 
which is how it is designed to work and then the LED goes out while you are 
using the microphone. Supposedly how bright the wink is, is an indication 
of how strong the battery level is.

I have an MKE 300 and its battery lasts for months of use as long as you 
remember to turn it off when its not actually being used.  With three fresh 
batteries, you will not need any for quite a while.
