Using a low frequency shelving boost on the= S channel allows me to increase the level of the S signal at low frequenci= es only. The end result is that I have widened the image at low frequencies= but not at high frequencies. For many recordings made with coincident pair= s, that's all that is needed to re-align the fundamental and lower harmonic= s of a sound source with its higher harmonics. Perhaps a formula could be devised to specify the optimal bass shuffling cr= ossover frequency and shelf amplitude for stereo arrays, depending on the m= ic spacing? -Dan |
