Hi Rick--
Its hard for me to visualize the angle options. I'm not even sure
how the capsules are oriented inside the mesh. Maybe can take some
pictures?

I noticed that the first first sample on the Blue website has pretty
nice stereo imaging (placed very close to the subject?) whereas the
imaging of the 2nd sample (mics farther away?) is considerably more
centered, less spatial. The angle adjustment might be playing a role
or not-- perhaps something to explore and determine. If not, you
might be able to disassemble the mic and improve its stereo imaging
capabilities. The capsules sound like they have potential.

Check the data rate on this format. I prefer m4a encoding to mp3
myself. So there's no non-compressed recording format on the iPod?
If so, this kind of contradicts Blues claim of "44.1 CD quality." Rob
