Xeno-canto has launched an experimental automated bird sound recognition sy=
stem today called Pai-luiz. It works for the sounds of the Americas. Check =
out www.xeno-canto.org to learn how it works and what to expect. The method=
 is brought to you courtesy of XC user Hermann Redies, who programmed it an=
d makes it available to the XC community.

This has been on our wish-list for a long time and we hope this will be the=
 start of some nice new developments. The method will work better if more s=
ounds from more places are available, so anyone can contribute and (but you=
 knew that already) you are all welcome to do so.
