I recall that ECM-50's aged very badly, i assumed the "semi-permanent"
Eletret charge just leaked away. Maybe later models are better in this
respect but I rather doubt. I got a pair in about 1972, by 1978 the output=

level had gone down quite considerably & the HF more so, this was comparing=

them to some new hired in ECM-50's. Bought some new ones, but by 1985 they=

too had become pretty unusable.
