Hi Jodi,

I think that these computer details are not that important. Of course, a la=
rge RAM size and a fast CPU can perhaps accelerate the analysis procedure a=
 bit, but not significantly.

I believe that the capabilities of the analysis software will much more aff=
ect the efficiency of your analysis procedures. So, it is important to use =
a software that can do at least some portions of the analysis procedure in =
an automated way.

The Avisoft-SASLab Pro software (http://www.avisoft.com/soundanalysis.htm) =
for instance provides a number of powerful automated analysis tools that ca=
n save a lot of time. Unfortunately, there is no Mac version. So, you had t=
o use either Parallels Desktop (http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/)=
or Boot Camp if you need to use it on a Mac.

Raimund Specht
