Hi David--
50% humidity should be very workable. There's no evidence that I'm
aware of that suggests diaphragm size affects sensitivity to
humidity. In the list archive, one can find many observations about
conditions that seemed to lead to increased problems and measures
that proved more or less effective.   A search of the archive with
the terms "mic moisture prevent" might provide a good entry point:
